Reproductive health of gay and bi cis women:
Some women in same sex relationships want to have biological children. There are several ways to do that. However, the situation in Germany regarding assisted reproduction for same se couples is a very complicated one. It is much harder in Germany to have a child as a same sex couple than it is in many other countries, which is why many people chose to go to other European countries to get pregnant.
One possible way to get pregnant as a female same sex couple is by doing artificial insemination by using sperm from a donor. That could either be an anonymous donor, a gay couple to share custody with or a family member or friend.
Another possibility is the ROPA method (Reception of Oocytes from Partner). With that method, one partner donates the oocyte and the other partner carries the pregnancy. This allows both partners to be biologically “involved” in the pregnancy. However, this method is not legal in Germany. In order to become pregnant using the ROPA method you would have to go to another country.
